Imagine a kingdom that has no television or the Internet until 1999. Imagine a kingdom where the king has recently given an important part of his power to his people. Now imagine if the rich were seen as the most successful in Asia. This kingdom is Bhutan, a mystical place located between India and China in the bottom of the eastern Himalayas. The climate varies from subtropical in the south to sub-alpine in the north. Most of the Buddhist kingdom, as evidenced by the magnificent monasteries are found throughout the country. The architecture is amazing, so that in the US University of Texas at El Paso have adopted the Bhutanese architecture on campus.
However ... If architecture is your thing, if you are someone who is in pure wonder of nature, then I suggest that Iceland may be a vacation for you. Please do not misunderstand me, Bhutan is absolutely gorgeous. However, Iceland has a unique geography, you can not find anywhere else. Where in the world can see the eruption of a volcano, then turn around and see an impressive glacier? Much of Iceland's population still believes in elves and fairies, no joke. For most of us, this may sound silly, but when it comes to Iceland and start traveling ... you begin to understand. There is an almost unreal, mystical quality of the country. Although there are still cities, cars and other trappings of the Western world, once you scratch the surface, it begins to feel like there's something more ... you are in another "place." I hope that makes sense.
When Iceland suggest to my friends, I often hear is back, "but it's so cold!" Of course, the cold is not for everyone, and if not for you, then how am I going to finish this list can be frightening. Turning to a well-Western, the hottest exotic is now the Middle East, Africa seconds. Frankly, the Middle East I'm tired. It is beautiful and the people are friendly, but I'm one of those who tend to "scratch the surface" when I travel, and when I do in the Middle East, I have some volatility. I think this will disappear over time, and in recent years, the Middle East may be my favorite destination. At the same time, however, I have my cake and eat it too. If warmer climates are actually more to your liking, I suggest one of my best kept secrets, the Comoros. This archipelago nation of Africa is the southernmost member of the Arab League. So yes, that is both African and Arabic .. . and one of its official languages is French. This is a poor nation, but people are good. The beaches are beautiful and your money will go a long way.
About beaches ... If beaches are your thing, then I have something big for you in Serbian. But first a confession. It 'was a book by Alex Garland "The Beach", which gave me the desire to travel, so I'm a little' prejudiced when it comes to my favorite beach. In this sense, I'm going to suggest, of course, El Nido, which is the province of Palawan in the Philippines. And 'here that Alex Garland was when he wrote his book, and yes, it's really a "secret beach". Secret Beach is located Matinloc Island, which is part of El Nido in the province. The beach is inaccessible to boats. To reach it you need to go snorkeling in an underground cave shortly. And 'excellent, and I like it. And yes, we are talking about the same book, that Leonardo DiCaprio movie is based. Be sure to read while the machine.
Earlier I mentioned that my final proposal may scare you ... so here it is. A couple of my friends suggested I go to Mount Everest and reach the summit. Personally, although I have my own "Everest" - South Pole. Yes, in this day and age there are groups that will take you to the South Pole. They can even arrange for the final and most difficult of the trip is to cross-country skis. Why would I do that? Why not?! Of course, it would be painful, but you only live once. And let's face it, it seems that every budding adventurer heads straight to Everest in order to "prove something". For me, a trip like this is all about inner peace. From what I understand. Sensory deprivation of all white desert of Antarctica, with the action moves as a group on skis, forcing himself into a deep state of meditation sure it would be hell ... but to dive as deep into your subconscious. For me, is that where heaven is.
It is "paradise" is the ultimate reference for trips like these. No matter if you are hiking the cliff side of the monastery in Bhutan, which establishes the beach to the south-east Asia, or hiking the South Pole itself. The real journey is your mind, and what adventures they managed to get out of you.
